AI CONNECTOR
Connect SlideDM to your AI assistant for one workspace. It reads by default, and takes actions only when you allow it.
Last updated: October 2, 2026
The SlideDM connector lets Claude or ChatGPT work with your SlideDM workspace in plain language. Ask which automation sent the most DMs last week, how DMs trended this month against last month, why DMs failed today, or for a list of the leads you captured this month.
Every connection can read. Taking actions, such as pausing an automation or replying to a comment, is opt in: see Access levels below.
When you connect, the consent screen asks how much the assistant may do. Read only is preselected.
To move a connection from Read only to Read and take actions, disconnect it in SlideDM Settings and connect again. To go the other way, choose Switch to read only next to the connection in Settings. It applies on the assistant's next request. Turning off AI actions in Settings makes every connection in the workspace read only.
Analytics work on both access levels. Days are counted in UTC.
With Read and take actions, the assistant can do the following. Most assistants ask you to confirm before an action runs. Each action works on one Instagram account; if your workspace has several, name the account.
Messages an assistant sends go out from your Instagram account under Meta's rules. You are responsible for what you approve. SlideDM refuses messages with blocked words, email addresses or phone numbers, and the same message sent to the same place twice within 10 minutes.
Instagram accounts you manage for a client cannot be used for actions.
Limits are shared by every connection in a workspace. Instagram's own limits still apply: when Instagram is limiting your account, sends are refused until it recovers.
Every action is logged. In SlideDM Settings under Connected AI apps, each connection shows its access level and its last 20 actions, including ones that failed. The log records the action and its target, including the Instagram username of the person you replied to or messaged, never the text of a message or the value of a lead. It is kept for 180 days.
The workspace owner gets an email the first time a connection takes an action, and every time leads are exported.
The connector is included with the Pro and Max plans. You need a Claude plan that supports custom connectors, or a ChatGPT plan that supports apps. See /pricing for SlideDM plans.
Only Claude and ChatGPT can connect. Other apps are refused on the consent screen.
Your SlideDM account needs a password, and only the workspace owner can connect a workspace. If you signed up with Google or an email code, set a password in SlideDM Settings first.
Each connection works with exactly one workspace. To share a different one, disconnect the assistant in SlideDM Settings under Connected AI apps, then connect again and pick the other workspace.
Open SlideDM Settings, find Connected AI apps, and choose Disconnect next to the assistant. Access stops immediately and the assistant's tokens stop working. You can also remove the connector inside Claude or ChatGPT.
An assistant can read the Instagram usernames and comment text of people who commented on your posts, the usernames and recent message previews of people who messaged you, and the leads you captured, which include the email addresses and phone numbers your followers shared with you. Only connect assistants you trust. Data you ask for is sent to the assistant's provider and handled under its privacy policy. Section 4 of our /privacy policy explains what SlideDM records about connections and actions.
